Jose’ Guzman-Dominican Church Planter
Meet the Pastor Monday • Jose’ Eduardo Guzman
He didn’t grow up in a Christian home. No consistent gospel influence…just what he picked up through school. But at 9 years old, a missionary showed up in his community and started sharing the good news through an Awana club.
José went…he listened…he believed…but he didn’t fully understand grace. He thought salvation was something you earned.
At 15, everything changed.
At an evangelistic service, he heard the Gospel clearly from Titus 2:11–15—that Jesus had already paid the price, and salvation is freely given by grace.
That night, it clicked.
And his life has never been the same.
He began serving in his church…went to seminary…earned a degree in pastoral theology…and even learned English so he could help mission teams coming into the Dominican Republic.
That’s how we met him.
What started as interpreting for mission teams turned into something much bigger.
In 2014, José was commissioned to plant churches.
Today, he and his wife are faithfully leading two churches in Inocencia and Villa Progreso…sharing the Gospel with kids, students, and adults in the middle of real opposition.
And God is changing lives.
We are grateful to partner with José and his family as they continue to do the work of Christ…empowered by the Spirit.
